Pushing the limits

19.3 million people watched skateboarding make its debut in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The sport is definitley growing and we can't wait to watch some of the best skateboarders around show us what they can do at the Urdd Urban Games. 

Cardiff and the Oval Basin has always been a hotspot for skaters, making the perfect location to host this event.

With ramps being built by Team Extreme, we will be turning the Oval Basin into a skatepark for a weekend of competition and jam sessions.

Event Details

We are excited to invite amateur and pro riders to Cardiff Bay to compete at the highest level. With ramps specially made for this event you can expect to see some unreal tricks.

Event info

The Skateboarding event will take place on Sunday 19th June 2022.

The event will take place in the Oval Basin, Cardiff Bay which has been used for years by skaters and riders from all over South Wales. We're taking over with custom ramps for this weekend only. 

There are limited spaces available. Get involved now!

Event Categories and Prizes

There will be boys/mens and girls/ladies events held for the following:

  • Ages 8-12 (Intermediate)
  • Ages 13-15 (Intermediate)
  • Pro/Am (Any Age)


Top 3 walk away with a prize.

  • Ages 8–12 - Equipment and Kit
  • Ages 13-15 - Equipment and Kit
  • Pro/Am - Prize fund of £1,000

Entry Prices

Tickets are priced as following:

  • Ages 8-12 (Intermediate) - £5 each
  • Ages 13-15 (Intermediate) - £5 each
  • Pro/Am (Any Age) - £5 each
