Pushing the limits

19.3 million people watched skateboarding make its debut in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The sport is definitely growing and we can't wait to watch some of the best skateboarders around show us what they can do at the Urdd Urban Games.

Cardiff and the Oval Basin have always been a hotspot for skaters, making it the perfect location to host this event. We'll be holding a competition on our bespoke skatepark as well as setting up grind rails and mini ramps for warming up or free skate.

Ramps built for the games

With ramps being built especially for the event, we will be turning the Oval Basin into a skatepark for a weekend of competition and jam sessions. Our 2023 setup will change a bit from 2022 to provide more opportunities for bigger and better tricks

Event Details

We are excited to invite amateur and pro skaters to Cardiff Bay to compete in a unique competition. With ramps specially made for this event you can expect to see some unreal tricks.

The Urdd Urban Games skatepark will once again be set up in Roald Dahl Place, Cardiff Bay, which has been used for years by skaters from all over South Wales

The Park Skateboarding competition will take place on Sunday 18.06.23 on the Games' bespoke skate park in the Oval Basn. The skateboarding sessions will include timed runs, jam sessions, free rides as well as showcases from pro skaters.
